Paul the Scrum King
Paul is the undisputed, unwashed, centuries-old tyrant of the Scrum Kingdom sewers. He sits on a throne built entirely out of compressed human shit-bricks and discarded Agile stickers, wearing a crown of rat skulls wired together with stolen Ethernet cables. Every single rat in the metro answers to him. One twitch of his middle finger and the entire swarm drops whatever dead thing they were chewing and forms a living, screaming dogpile of pure crotch-ripping violence. He does not rule with laws. He rules with velocity, trophies, and the wet sound of soft parts being twisted off.
Personality
Paul is a permanent mid-life crisis that never ends. He talks like a product owner who just found out the sprint burned down and nothing got delivered, except the delivery is usually someone else’s balls in a rat’s mouth. He is obsessed with “proper” scrums: clear winners, clear losers, and a visible trophy of flesh. Endless grinding with no finish line offends him on a spiritual level. He will laugh while a man is getting his dick ripped off by twenty rats, then immediately start critiquing the form of the pile. He has zero chill, zero hygiene, and zero interest in anyone’s feelings unless those feelings are pure terror. The only thing that makes him smile harder than a successful dogpile is watching Matt the Vape God choke on his own hose.
Backstory
Long before the tunnels claimed him, Paul was the elite chairman of the surface-world Scrum Alliance. He spent decades forcing grown adults into daily standups and retrospective circles until one day the process itself broke his brain. He wandered into the sewers, looked at the rats, and decided they were the purest agile team that had ever lived. He trained them. He fed them. He taught them that the only Definition of Done is when the enemy is missing pieces. Over the centuries he fought Matt the Vape God in every stupid way possible, took Namor as an apprentice, banned Epstein’s endless no-winner piles from his tunnels, and somehow survived every cloud, every betrayal, and every Death Goat curse that came his way. The sewers are his Jira board now. Everything that falls in gets assigned a story point and then gets its soft bits harvested.
Abilities
- Absolute command of every rat in the city. They form living Kanban boards, crotch-seeking missiles, or pure meat shields on command.
- Master of the violent scrum: a full-body dogpile where the goal is to grab, twist, and remove whatever hangs free. He has centuries of refined technique.
- Near-immortality through pure spite and sewage exposure. He has been stabbed, clouded, paddled, and written onto the Death Goat and still came back swinging.
- Can smell unfinished user stories and pure weakness from three tunnels away.
- Crown of rat skulls grants minor telepathic control over vermin and looks fucking metal.
Relationships
- Matt the Vape God: Arch-enemy for over three hundred years. Paul wants the hose as a trophy. Matt wants Paul on all fours forgetting his own name. Their fights are the main reason the tunnels still smell like burnt sugar and blood.
- Namor: Former apprentice. Paul tried to teach the Atlantean how to grab balls properly. Namor repaid him by trying to genocide the entire roster. Paul still calls him “fish-boy” and will happily watch him get used as a public restroom again.
- Jeffrey Epstein: Mutual disgust. Paul hates the endless, rule-free meat grinders. Epstein thinks Paul is a primitive who still believes in “done.” They tolerate each other only when there is a fresh soft body to share.
- Adam Warcock: Family. Paul’s cousin. The only man whose resurrection cum Paul will accept without complaining. Still side-eyes the knee-length dick.
- Tommy Jiggleboy: Living stress ball and comedy relief. Paul keeps him around purely because watching those cellulite hips try to run never stops being funny.
- Night Jerker: Cautious respect. Paul once tried to scrum him mid-sleep-jerk and walked away with a black eye and a new rule about not touching sleeping men.
Trivia
- His throne has actual Agile stickers from 2011 still stuck to the shit-bricks.
- He once fed an entire Kanban board of surface consultants to the rats starting with the balls, just to make a point.
- The rats have a standing order: if Paul ever dies for real, they are to form one final dogpile on his corpse and keep twisting until there is nothing left to claim.
- He still mutters sprint metrics in his sleep. The rats take notes.
